It was my first time here which is weird since I live a couple blocks a far. It is always packed at night so I was scared that it would happen at lunch. I came in and there were a couple of families. It was a nice and fresh place with a lot of natural light, which is what I like. My family and I ordered the guacamole, a ceviche, 2 plates of tacos and gorditas. They give you tortillas and a mild salsa to start, which was amazing. When the guac came it was in a big bowl. It was perfect, I thought it was better than chipotle. It had a lot of lime, which is what I like, pico de gallo, some onions and salt ,pepper. The tacos were good, the steak was amazing. The flour tortilla was not impressive as it lacked flavor. I ordered the gorditas, they came a little late but it was alright. They flavor was amazing. They arepas stole the show for me. It was a little spicy but you could handle it. For dessert, we all shared a tres leches. As soon as it was on the table, it disappeared! It was creamy and delicious. I will come back again!

Had lunch here with my friend. For lunch, it wasn't packed, a few people. They have a special lunch menu, which we ordered from.. They started us off with complimentary tortilla chips and fresh guacamole, which was really good (don't know if they do this for dinner, since it does get pretty packed at night). We ordered mango juice, which was so fresh! As if they had a mango tree in the back! Very refreshing. I'm vegetarian, and they were able to accomodate my order. I ordered a burrito, which had frijoles molido, rice, sour cream, corn, and pico de gallo. Your usual burrito. It was really good! I love pico de gallo, and they made it very flavorful. Also, the refried beans were pretty good too, I love my beans. My friend got albóndigas con arroz, I believe. She thought the meatballs were okay. Other than that, the service was great, our server was very attentive. Great food and great customer service.

Parking in the strip mall is difficult to manage. It's difficult to find a spot and them slightly awkward to get into. The location is great and so is the ambiance. If you sit outside you get a great feel for Ft Lauderdale. It's really an entertaining spot. The authentic Mexican food was slightly above average. Nothing was really special to me. The waitress kept checking and the table was wiped off more than all my restaurant stays in the past 6 months put together. Seriously. Just a 3 because nothing I ate stood out although it was not bad ... just not memorable.

We were the only ones in there for lunch... Not a very busy spot. The lunch menu is very limited, and doesn't match what they say is available on Yelp. The food seems overpriced for what you actually get. The guacamole had a neat presentation but lacked flavor. The tacos were decent but very small, and the meatballs came out cold. The best thing we had were the drinks! $4 happy hour margaritas!

I had a really good experience here, went here on a Sunday with a friend and we had great service from all of the staff. You also get a free drink.if you check in on yelp ! I had the fish tacos and the chips and guac and they were delicious. Also I had about 4 margaritas, they were so good I couldn't just have one. I would come back another time, I had a great time here.

I've been wanting to come and check out this spot out for a while, it's down the street from my house. Seems like a great neighborhood hangout. Came on 4th of July. The world cup was on, so there was a $20 minimum per person. The guacamole was flavorless. My sister and I asked for some limes and added it as well as salt and pepper to give this $14 appetizer some flavor. Very disappointed. Re-fried beans were ok. Great thing that we kept getting more and more nacho chips - our food was nowhere in sight. These filled us up. Waited for our tacos for about 45 minutes, they came cold (not the warm, as if they stood out ready to be served for a while). A table that was sat after us, with a similar order, got their food way before we did. They actually finished eating just as we got ours. By the time these tacos arrived, we were no longer hungry - now just upset and pressed for time. We did get a dessert on the house, because it was clear to the manager and the server that they screwed up our experience. Very unsatisfied, probably wont be coming back.

Check in on yelp and get a free MARGARITA. Order up their corn Tortilla lunch special. They make the tortillas in house and they are delish. You can mix and match the combo but beware the attempted upcharge. The tacos al pastor were the standout .

Ahhh love it here!! The chips, the salsa, the fajitas, the enchiladas, everything. It's delicious. The service is quite slow, there are only a couple of people that are awesome servers, one is a male can't recall his name. All of the others are super slow. I hardly paid attention though, because I was too happy with my meal. The parking is not the best around the strip mall, but that's because it's huge. That doesn't matter either though, because the food is still worth it. I love sitting outside, if it gets too windy then they will roll down air breakers. The bathroom is cute, and clean. I recommend this place if you are looking for awesome creative, gourmet Mexican food!

A good environment to get together with friends. The quesadilla was just okay but the margaritas and chips/guac were great. Because we had a large group they gave us a free bowl of guacamole and we each were given a tequila shot. It's nice that this is right by the beach (walking distance) so if you wanted to park at the restaurant lot and then head over that would be a great day. I think their deals are better for drinking than food though: Tuesdays 9-12 PM if you get a bucket of beer you get a free bowl of guacamole and it's also Karaoke night, Thursday-Sunday: girls drink for free from 9-11 PM (margaritas, bellinis, champagne, or Mimosas. My friends and I have been meaning to head over here to enjoy it. Also, just be prepared that some of the staff only speak Spanish, so if there is someone in your group who can translate that would be very helpful.

Passed up our usual Wapo Taco to try this. Here on a Saturday night at 8pm. Not too mnay people here. There is alot of staff on duty. Waiter was nice. Recomended the Guacamole but failed to mention 2 sizes and brought us large for just 2 people. It was very good and the chips the give are really good as well. However the salsa tasted like cold tomato soup. Waiter should have asked what size we wanted. Redeemed Yelp Check in for a free classic margarita. Asked for frozen and received on the rocks. Waiter isnt paying attention. However the margarita was really good, bit not sure I'd pay $9.95 for it. The wife ordered Chicken Enchiladas Suiza with Tomitilla sauce. Came with refried beans and mexican rice. The Enchiladas were very good and a nice size portion (3). The sauce was very flavorful. The beans were ok but luke warm at best. The rice had veggies from a bag (previous frozen). The sides not so good. They need to do better. I had 3 tacos. Fried fish, shrimp and al pastor pork. They first arrived with no condiments. I had to ask for what was included in the menu description. The waiter again forgot to ask what kind of tortilla I wanted. They offer corn, flour and hard. Luckily they brought corn. The fish wad a nice sized oiece lightly fried. Mild taste. It was good all dressed up. The shrimp was cooked really well and was flavorful too. The al pastor was just ok and a litle dry with no pineapple. Im a freak for al pastor tacos and this one was a let down. Also, no limes were anywhere to be found. We spent $44 on the check and $51 with tip. We drank water except the free margarita. This location should do good on a Saturday, but I didnt see it. IMO I wont be back. Too many pesos for not enough flavor. If I want enchiladas I may get some take iyt as these are the best ive had in the area. The manager was walking around and greeted us, but he never came by to ask how things were. 2.5 stars.

Absolutely Amazingly Awesome! Super Strong and Yummy FREE Margarita with check in. One of the best guacs in SFL hands down. I highly recommend the Baja fish tacos, they melt in your mouth. The skirt steak was also very well prepared and delicious leading me to believe everything else on the menu is great. Service has been excellent thus far. Waiting for dessert now and couldn't help but write this review. Cheers to My New Mexican Restaurant!

Firstly I must say that I never write a bad or good review but this deserves the time and attention. My friends and I like trying new cuisines and flavors. From fine dinning to a dive bar in a wall; and when we travel all we ask for is good food and hospitality from the staff. During our trip to Miami we decided to go to this restaurant: we wanted something simple, quick and close to home because we were starving and wanted to get our night started. DTako Market is located on Collins Avenue in Sunny Isles, FL. It was very easy to find, right on the main street, has indoor and outdoor seating, looks clean and decent- promising for an adequate simple dinner. We got there around 10PM and 11 of us were seated immediately, no reservation needed. Despite the drastic winds that picked up, we didn't mind being seated outside because there were no tables large enough to accommodate us inside at the time. The first thing that struck us wrong was when we were told "NO" when asked if the fan could be turned off considering it was cold and our napkins and menus were flying all over the place. Despite that answer, my friends and I laughed it off and continued to yell at each other for conversation because the outside music/singing was unbearably too loud for us have an intimate conversation amongst each other. 15 minutes after we sat down the only hostess in the restaurant took our drink orders. Shortly after, she brought out half of our drink orders with a pitch of water we requested and no glasses to drink from. After 10min of patiently waiting and asking for glasses, one of us finally went inside and requested them from the bar. After another 30min (at least) went by, and no attention from the staff, I finally requested her to take our food order because the chips they kept serving us wasn't quite the dinner we had in mind. Finally, another 45-60min went by and we kindly asked the waitress where our appetizers were; considering the table behind us, who sat down after us, where already paying their bill. The overwhelmed waitress gave us her apologies and quickly brought out our main dishes and appetizers all at once. Well, most our appetizers- I am still waiting on my nachos. But, truthfully everything up to this point doesn't even matter. What makes this the worst dinning experience ever was the fact that the half of the food that was ordered was not edible. My husband, who eats everything, stated "I wouldn't even feed this to a dog" and refused to take another bite. 8 out of 11 of us left their food completely untouched. Unlike any experience I have ever encountered in a restaurant, the manager refused to accommodate us or remove the items that were not even touched from the bill. Not a single apology was given or any form of remorse. We received the bill in full, with items added to our bill we did not order and an automatic gratuity charge for the services that were not provided. The entire experience here was not good, I would never go again to this place for any reason and I don't recommend this restaurant, not even to my worst enemy. In a few words...you should better try McDonalds or fast food restaurant!!

Guac was ok, heavy on onions Steak taco was ok Fish taco, not so ok... 30 mins later... Realized I had all the symptoms of food poisoning!! First time experiencing that, terrible experience for that reason. Hopefully they are more careful for future patrons.

Everything here is 5 stars. The service & the food. Start with the guacamole they make it fresh in house, cilantro, lime, onions and tomatoes it's served in a stone mortar. Also on its way over is house chips and salsa. The salsa is pureed, which I love - I'm less on the chunky side of salsa. For dinner I recommend the chimichanga. It's the first place I've been that gives you both a green and red sauce so you can taste the best of both worlds, finally a huge pieces of melted cheese. The chimi is the size of your head, if that isn't enough they serve it with rice and beans. The rice is dirty and cooked perfectly with trace amounts of vegetables. I see there have been many bad reviews, and before I finally wrote this review I came here 4 times and I promise every time has been no less than delishous. Give this awesome Mexican restaurant a shot

  • Jeff V.

I have never written a bad review so let me start there. To say food was bad is a understatement. Half was either sent back or just not eaten, I mean 3/4 full plates left. Every plate left or sent back was not removed from our bill. One person at my table got 2 drinks before my 1st arrived. Waited 45 min at the table to order. I can keep going but I have to use the bathroom again. Please save your time and money. Place deserve a 0 star rating. Every good review has to be an employee or friend. Oh yeah place is called "tako" but only has 3, all terrible tacos available. Ha

Loved this place, I have been going since they opened the restaurant, I live in sunny isles so is very convenient for me, I'm sure this is the only good Mexican restaurant in the area, everything is worthy to try, I'm 100% Mexican so I know what I'm talking about!

The food is very flavorful and good here. I ate one of their soups with shredded chicken and it was delicious. I also had guacamole, but it needed some salt. My friends really enjoyed the shrimp tacos and chicken quesadillas. The service on the other hand wasn't the best. We had a hard time communicating with the servers and I felt a little neglected. Overall it's a nice place to dine, and the prices are reasonable too!

Aztec platter was great (if you are not into spicy stuff get the sauce on the side). Service was good and the waiter was very attentive. Good music and atmosphere. For desert GET THE FLAN. Amazing some of next I have had. Super place.

Good food but the waiter was not personable at all. Did get a free classic margarita from help. It was frozen and they wouldn't let me change it to an actual classic.

  • Craig N.

Really not a bad dinner. The guacamole is pretty good and very fresh. A little too heavy on the onions. The chips are a lot to be desired. Some were stale and were barely luke warm. The thing to order is the Azteca special with beef and and shrimp. It was very fresh and well made. Very flavorful sauce. Good service was good although they kept insisting on opening the doors even though it was cold out and we kept asking them to close them. And yes agree with others. .,,her rid of the live music. It is horrible.

We come here often enough since it's a close walk from our house. The management is fantastic and always welcoming, the food isn't "authentic Mexican" and its overall good, not great but the atmosphere and service makes up for it. They make a great pisco sour which is obviously not Mexican but be sure to try it!

Came here for the first time after passing by a couple of times. I don't really know why it has so little stars, because Friday night was great. We sat at the bar, and our bartender Jose was great. He was friendly and timely. He even gave us a free shot because I said it was my birthday next week. We ordered for drinks a Captain Morgan with a splash of coke for my fiancé and they were well prepared - which rarely happens because he complains it's more ice than rum - I ordered frozen margaritas and you can never go wrong with that. We also had the half guacamole and it was big enough for two, and very fresh and lemony. To eat I got the Sopes and they were good. My fiancé had the pork tacos and he said they were the best he's had in Miami. I can't say it's authentic Mexican, because it's a little more towards the tex-mex side, but it's yummy nonetheless and the service is great. Will be coming back for my actual birthday on Wednesday. Loved the live music too! Some Rock en Español, which was a huge plus!!

  • Johnny T.

Oohh, not very good. I feel badly writing that because the service here is very nice (especially for Miami) and it appears that they try hard but the food is just not appetizing. I've had Mexican food all over this country but I've never had it quite like this. No, that is not a good thing. Let's start with the location. I can appreciate that, within the past six months or so, Sunny Isles has been trying to do a lot to up its restaurant game. That said, the turnabouts, traffic and 'which parking lot is this thing in' game get a little old. Coming from the south (South Beach) finding the right lot in which to turn was a bit of a pain. That's not D'Tako's fault (of course) but it set the mood for me. Being in Sunny Isles, I wasn't surprised to see a waitstaff comprised of more than a few Russians. The thing is, when I asked questions about the cuisine, I was met with a blank look -- more than once. Perhaps it's pig-headed of me, but I'd hope for a waitstaff with more familiarity with the cuisine being served... or, at least, the menu. But, perhaps, the lack of familiarity stemmed from the fact that the waitress didn't *want* to eat the food. It's not very good... at all. The queso fundido was a lukewarm mess. I can't call it a 'hot mess' because that would imply a dish of hot cheese was, well, hot. It was not. Despite the fact that the dish was not hot, it had all the pooled grease that a plate of hot cheese might have. To make matters worse, the tortillas served with the dish was hard and -- you guessed it -- not hot. Wait. Did I say matters got worse? I was premature in my assessment. The chimichanga made matters worse. Actually, it made them inedible. To begin with, the chimichanga was not fried. Um, that makes it a burrito. Secondly, the cheese that comes with/on the dish is served in one semi-melted piece of white cheese strewn across the top of the item. At this point, I'm wondering if the oven works. The taste? Bland to nasty (see also Cloudy with a chance of meatballs). I was so uncomfortable and unhappy with my meal, I could not physically be in the restaurant anymore. I got antsy, asked for the check and left food (a lot of food) on the table. I never do that. I either eat to the point of pain, get leftovers or eat to the point of pain, have leftovers and give them away to someone on the street. I did not eat to the point of pain. I did not ask for leftovers. I would not give this food to someone on the street. It's not very good, I'm sorry to say.

The complementary margaritas were absolutely delicious and our waiter Adrian was the greatest! The food was amazing and to all of the older reviews negating the manager, you'll be happy to hear they are under new management and it's better than ever! They were aware of the issue and fixed it. :) They gave us a free dessert just because and the prices were pretty reasonable. Definitely will be back!

Good food and service plus great specials. We decided to go to this Mexican restaurant after passing by several times. I checked the yelp reviews and they weren't very good but we decided to give it a try and I'm glad we did. When you check in with yelp you get a free margarita. Besides from Thursday to Sunday there is ladies nights from 9-11 pm and ladies can have margaritas, bellinis or mimosas. What a great deal! The food is good, specially the Azteca Platter. The guacamole was ok, but not the best. The service was outstanding. Every person was always making sure that everything was ok even the general manager. My only complaint: the music. Some bachata and horrible Latin music. It will be better with just pop music or Mexican pop music

    (4)
  • Orlando A.

This my second time here for drinks and food. The food is really good. They don't over do it and keep it simple. The service was a little slow both times. There's nothing worse than waiting to get your second round off drinks. Over all...... I recommend this place. Good is good, outside seating is calm and relaxing.

  • Adriano P.

The food is ok. Mostly mexican food. The night we were there they had a good singer performing and people was very happy. It is well located in sunny isles. The ideal stars number for this review is 3.5 because the service and the food was average.

  • Fallan O.

Service started out poorly. It took forever for the waitress to take our drink order. When asked for water we received a pitcher and no glasses to drink it. We had to ask 3 times for 1 drink to arrive. Appetizers did not arrive in a timely manner. In fact our dinners were placed in front of us before our appetizers. Most of the food was inedible. We were extremely unhappy with the whole experience. The worst part was that the manager was unable to fix the problem and argued with us. This was hands down the worst restaurant experience I've ever witnessed.

  • Angela K.

Came with my girlfriends. We had the unfortunate experience as having Ivan (the manager) as our waiter. He didn't do much. He just took our orders and then delivered it. Only asked one girl(out of the 6 of us) if we enjoyed our food. Didn't check up on us not much. And it wasn't as if he had a rough shift with a bunch of tables filled (the restaurant is EMPTY). He was also very sarcastic and RUDE when we let him know how disappointed we were with his performance and the food (TASTELESS) ! Over all one of the worst experiences I've ever had. Will definitely not be coming here again. Also if you'd like to know, the food is really over priced ! And gross! Anyone who says otherwise has never had good Mexican food. This place should be on kitchen nightmares!!!

Good Flautas... The Chips were fresh but the salsa was like a green tomatillo mix that I wasn't to impressed with. The coffee was pretty good to wash down the food. I would come back for sure.

The waitress was good, but the food is not even close to good !! Been in Mexico many times and this food doesn't make it honor ! The salsas ( which is only two ) are tasteless! Not impress and will never come back !

Fantastic all the way! The atmosphere, music, decor and fresh authentic Mexican food , the service is outstanding, the owner gave us his recommendations and the specials of that day. We ordered fresh to order guacamole, the Agua Chile ( shrimp ceviche) to start, delicious and perfect portion left me with no room for soup =( , for main dish I got the Yucatan style fish- marinated in achote sauce, perfectly seasoned and lightly spiced, my husband got the Mole, you must try for your self ! Defenetly coming back, d'tako im your biggest mexican fan

Outdated menu my order didn't bring what it was supposed to, no plastic utensils included $6 delivery charge for an address that is 7 minutes away, no CHEESE in my tacos, come on man !!!!! Fresco is what I was looking forward to. I feel dooped smh

  • Phil H.

When we saw this restaurant it looked like a cool place to stop for a drink and a bite to eat I wish we didn't. .. The margaritas were tiny at 10 each. I ordered fish tacos and there was barely any fish on them and they were also 10 for 3. Not at all what I would expect from a restaurant next to the ocean. I feel like they were out to give you as little as possible.

    (1)
  • Ben R.

BEWARE!!! Our order was wrong. The waitress barely understood me. She actually tried to get me to NOT order what I was ordering! Yeah! While the food tasted decent, our Queso Dip was luke warm at best. The only reason I gave it a 2-Star is because "one of the owner's wives" came to our table to apologize for the "slow" service. The Mexican food place on 163rd and Biscayne is truly authentic. I am from California, so even though I am not an EXPERT on Mexican Food- per se- I do have vast amounts of data to vote "NO" on "authentic"!

D'Tako Market was a wonderful surprise during our stay at Sunny Isles! We came here after a hard day at work and the waiters and manager were very friendly! The food was delicious as well! Guacamole was just for amazing as well as the tortilla soup! Value for many in Sunny Isles! We will come back!

I had some really good guacamole at D'Tako. I would come back just for that and have a beer with it too. The order comes with tortilla chips like any other Mexican restaurant, but it also comes with soft mini-tortillas, which is brilliant and other Mexican restaurants should follow suit.

Worst Mexican food I've ever had. Carnitas tacos were dry and bland. Fish tacos were inedible. Charged $6.00 more to get a different protein on a 3 taco entree. No wonder the place was empty! Horrible!!!!!

    (1)
  • Andrew A.

Looses points for vibe, of lack of I should say. The place has been dead. Both times I went the place was pretty damn empty. I'm talking about prime nights and there are 3 people in the place. Your much better off going to porterhouse a few doors down if you don't want to be the only one in the place.

    (3)
  • Doug F.

Guacamole was amazing and fresh made right before it comes to the table. This is definitely more on the "authentic" side than most places. Casual atmosphere and tasty margaritas are icing on the cake. If you're at Haulover Beach, and find yourself wondering - "where should we go get lunch"? This is the place!

I would give this place 0 if I could. Service was terrible. No point going into all the details, because there's too much to tell. Plenty of better places to spend your money on Mexican vs. this place. Again, it sucks, I would never recommend this to my worst enemy.

Very good from the chips and salsa not traditional at all....the chicken enchilada suiza and green tomatllo was fantastic. Tilapia was season ed just right and very reasonable prices. .

  • Boris M.

We ate there today 5/2/2015. The place Is very nice and very clean. The food is a great disappointment. All extremely salty and highly seasoned. If you are looking for fresh and great traditional Mexican flavor u will be better off with Taco Bell. Service was good. Very expensive $86 for two people with two margaritas and two entrees. I asked for enchiladas Suizas. Never saw the sour cream sauce they were jut swimming in red sauce. They get one star because the food is very bad. Safe your money go to Taco Bell!

GOOD FOOD, NICE STAFF, HALF PRICE MARGARITAS FOR HAPPY HOUR! I go here once a week time with my husband and 2 year old and always have tasty meals and amazing service. The also offer an all day special for $9.99 with good size portions. We like to try different things on the menu and are always pleasantly surprised.

My bf and I ate at this place a few times since it opened as it's a block from our apartment. The quality has dropped since it opened. We ordered the spinach dip- it was melted cheese with some pieces of spinach. Both the steak and fish tacos were bland and overcooked. They came with no sauce and a spoonful of pico de gallo and some old shredded lettuce. The waitress looked at the fish tacos and immediately took them back saying they were wrong. 5 minutes later someone else brought them back looking exactly the same. When we tried to explain to the manager she just said "no problem no bill." Didn't even care to know why we were unhappy. Offered a shot of tequila as an apology and when we declined she walked away. If your in the area Rice Sushi and Thai is a better option.

This place has really good Mexican food, served in large portions. It may seem expensive, but for the quantity and quality it's well worth it. I highly recommend either the tortilla od bean soup! The waiter couldn't really describe any of the dishes to us in a way that made sense, but it didn't matter anyway because everything we ordered was very flavorful and didn't let us down. I'll definitely be back!

The worst, the absolute worst! Let me just list a few things explaining why: 1. The live music was awfully loud and simply just awful. 2. We asked our waitress to turn a fan off because our party was cold and this fan was only blowing on us, and we were flat out told "no". 3. It took forever to order drinks 4. It took forever to get our drinks, and I'm just talking about the water for the table 5. The alcoholic drinks took twice as long to arrive 6. Margaritas were un-drinkable 7. It took at least 40 minutes before our food order was TAKEN. We went through about 12 baskets of chips before our food came (not kidding, 12!) 8. When the food did arrive it was inedible. Almost every plate was uneaten. 9. We tried to have a civil conversation with the manager to simply get our bill adjusted reasonably so both parties in this matter were satisfied. The manager called the police and ended up taking only 15% off a $350 bill. A bill that consisted of 80% of the tables food uneaten. 10. I came down to Sunny Isles for vacation and passed this place a dozen times always getting excited to finally eat there and once we got there it was nothing but complete disappointment and frustration. BUYERS BEWARE! Oh yea, and we will be filing a report to the Better Business Bureau.

Meh... Just meh! The ceviche was sugary and lacked dimension and flavor. The fish and veggies tasted previously frozen. We ordered a quesadilla and the chicken was deliciously seasoned. The guacamole was bland and suffered from a lack of freshness as well. Please don't get excited about the salsa and chips. I called the salsa "pasta sauce". If you like your Mexican food bland then this is a good option, otherwise, look elsewhere.

Great meal with our party. Service excellent, happy to accommodate our ordering quirks. Margaritas a bit weak, but food and service made up for it. Waiter we had May be the best in sunny isles!

Great food! Our server was Hector and we had a little bit of a problem with the food but it can happen to anyone! Hector fixed it like no problem, the rest of the food was spetacular and He topped it off with a free dessert!

The food is great but the service kinda sucked. They had us waiting for several requests and the automatic gratuity was way more than we wanted to leave according to staff effort.

We had a wonderful afternoon here! The guac was great. The tacos were very good. The margaritas were wonderful and the manager, Raul, had a terrific sense of hospitality. We will be back.

This place was alright. . . The salsa that came out with the chips reminded me of a queso/tomatillo combo which I wasn't too thrilled with. . . And the rice didn't look like it was prepared in house. My server was very good however and my margarita was tasty. . .

PLEASE READ!!!First of all I'm friends with several of employes and ex employes of this place not only is this place not good for there food at all but they claim to make home made tortilla which come from a plastic bag from super markets. They say there house tequila is revolution which is a totally lie they use a cheap dollar menu item I don't recommend this place at all they slave there workers from what I've heard they don't get breaks or lunch time if even if they work long periods of time don't be surprised to see new faces every time you go as employees are constantly quitting I was once there and there managers are very unprofessional and look lost most if the time. if there was a way to give this place no stars I would. save your money and don't support the slavery of there employes.

Went for lunch. Waited for 40min and never got our food so we left. There was one other table of people in the whole restaurant so they weren't even busy.

So.. This place is SLOW. Guacamole was okay...today. Sangria is not as strong. Make sure you pour without ice. Coors Light bottle is $8....yeah, no!!! We didn't stay for dinner, but I would imagine it would have gotten worse. This place SUCKS!!! We're going to the Ale House where we know the food & drink will be reasonably priced & the service will be decent.

I thought the service was pretty good here. My waiter was helpful and the manager on duty checked in to see if I was enjoying my meal. It was also a nice atmosphere. I just can't say that I enjoyed the food. The salsa that came with the chips basically had no flavor. It was very strange because it looked like it would be tasty. I ordered fish tacos and they were ok, not good, just ok. I live in the area and eat out most of the time, but I don't think I will come back. There are a lot of great restaurants in Miami, so the bar has been set pretty high generally speaking. There is just no reason to eat "ok" food with so many great choices. Bummer because I am looking for a good Mexican restaurant in Sunny Isles.

Love that restaurant. Get there once a week at least. A guacamole is tasty, a skirt stake is to die for. Like our waiter Elias and a very pleasant atmosphere.

The service was horrible!! I came here with my friend and waited 15 minutes before a young lady finally brought us chips and waters that we didn't order. We then asked her for a lemon, which she NEVER brought. Actually, she never came back to the table. We then waited an additional ten minutes before finally asking for the manager. When we spoke to him he seemed lost and then asked if we wanted to leave!!! Who does that?! Needless to say we will NEVER come back. Stay away from this place!

Don't go here. The people working here were really rude they were watching our every move. They hardly could understand me. I couldn't understand them. They took forever to bring out the food and when they did it was the wrong order! Did not like this place. And I love Mexican food this was not the best

Tried this restaurant out recently. We had the queso dip dip appetizer which was really good. I had the fajitas which were delicious. It's more of an authentic type Mexican restaurant in Sunny Isles. They used to have a live mariachi but the city said they couldn't have it outside anymore.

This place is new, really nice inside. The food was great, we ordered the Mahi Mahi and a steak, both were great and came with either salad or rice & beans.

Very good food, great service. They have a unique fajita, it comes in a volcano bowl that is hot as lava! Keeps the food warm your entire meal. The cheese they use was really good! I had the Chimichanga. I would recommend!

Food was great and service was personnel were extremely attentive. Four of us ordered a variety of food (my friend was born and raised in Mexico), and everything was authentic and tasty. We sat on the patio. Good live music, winning heat game, good foid snd company. Can't ask for more. I would highly recommend D'Tako Market.

Oh my, if you are in the neighborhood, give these guys a try. This was the best Mexican we have ever tried, and being from Los Angeles, we do not lack for Mexican kitchen. We ordered the Atzeca plate with chicken. It was so delicious I thought I was going to lick the plate clean. The service was prompt and courteous. They also have a live band playing on the patio nights and weekends. Overall, a very festive atmosphere and delicious food and drinks.

Good lord...where do I start . Annoying horrible music with loud pounding bass. Someone in another review from California said he thought it was authentic. Not sure where in California he is from but guessing the northern most border...miami seems to be 80 pcnt hispanic but I'm guessing not many Mexicans based on the poor quality of food coming out of this establishment . I am from New York and i can assure you this is some crappy non authentic mexican. Guac had no spice at all, tacos sucked and quesadilla was poor at best. The kids chicken tenders were actually the best part. The service was decent so that's why it gets two stars. The salsa was some yellow gunk and i asked for red salsa and they had no idea what I was taking about. Meal for 2 adults and 2 toddlers was 100 bux. Save your money and head to taco bell, i can assure you that you will be much happier. If you like this place and give it a high review then you are probably from Europe or the Midwest and have no clue.

Food was okay-ish. Nothing great, but acceptable of course. The service was fabulous. Our server did all he could to make us comfortable. We had Enchiladas and Quesadillas. Both quite good. The frozen margaritas were not so good though -- not frozen enough :-( but with lots of tequila :-) Overall, a decent place if you need something non-fancy after a busy day at the beach.

Ok so i know this is a new place. And i was hoping to have some really good tacos. Heres the deal. The set up of this restaurant is awkward. This location has changed ownership at least 5 times in 2years. Was hopeful that this mexican would be great. The guacamole is priced 9-15 bucks. Half or whole. I got half. It looked fresh but was utterly flavorless. Bummer. No salt on table. The owners came around and spoke to everyone in the rest. That was nice. They also explained they are a new place and to bear with them. My waiter Phillipe was kind and professional. Other server was condescending and i almost felt reprimanded by him when i said the guacomole lacked flavor. Maybe he was offended. So the three stars is for the steak tacos. They were vey tasty. I asked for them traditional style. I got onions and steak. No cilantro. Hey what do i know? Im not mexican and have never been to mexico. The grilled fish taco was pretty and yummy too. They seem like they are eager to improve. I thought the rice tasted good and so did the beans. Dint expect a roccos tacos kind of guac. Ill come back for some tacos. This place is going for a high end mexican thing but they need to improve before they can call themselves that and charge what they do. But it seems like thats what they are aiming to do. Ok might i add that when i complained the manager took the bill. Which was awesome because the guac really wasnt worth my money but phillipe deserved a nice tip. Try it out! Id like to see others take on this place.

Terrible! Total waste of money. Super slow. Ordered aztecas platter and it had no seasonings. The nachos were stale - who serves stale nachos?

This Authentic Mexican Restaurant opened recently in the Sunny Isles area. I went there with some friends to check it out and the experience was a disaster. The first no no, was having live music in such a small venue, it was too loud and the performer was less than impressive. The whole staff seem lost in oblivion. Our waiter, whom I should call B, was friendly but not very attentive. Two people at the table ordered soups, they were barely finish when the entrees were brought in, bad timing from the waiter, too soon. A fourth person joined us later on and she was not even offered a menu or asked if she wanted something to drink or eat. The waiter cleared the table, leaving silverware behind and never returning to pick it up. We waited to order desserts and coffee, while B could be seen chatting with other waiters close to our table in total disregard for our needs. A couple of people who seem like managers or owners could be seen walking around saying hello to the tables, maybe friends or family members. They should pay more attention to their staff. Maybe I should go easy on them, given that they are brand new. Maybe I will go back after a few months to see if the service improves. I didn't say anything at the restaurant because my friend knows the owner and did not want any drama. Oh and by the way $4.00 for a Jarritos Bottled Soda Pop, really? Might as well buy a beer.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
